Breslau sits just east of Kitchener across the Grand River, in Woolwich Township, and it has changed fast. The new subdivisions on the north and east sides of the village are full of houses finished with a single coat of builder flat, and most of the painting calls from Breslau are new owners wanting two proper coats, colour in a few rooms, the trim gaps caulked and the settlement cracks filled once the house has been through a winter or two. Those are clean, predictable jobs, and empty-house move-in painting between closing and the truck arriving is common.
